Olympic Bulges

Well, I'm kinda obsessed with the Olympics. I just like watching them. I don't watch sports any other time, but I like me some Olympics. I also don't have cable. We just use Hulu and Netflix, which is usually fine, but it means I can only watch Olympics through my antennae on regular ol' TV. Luckily, we have a huge antennae cord that can be snaked around the house into a back room where the antennae will actually pick up signal. Luckily for us, the Olympics are on NBC so that trick works, but if it were CBS, then I would need to move the antennae out the front door onto a trash can in front of the porch.

It is incredibly annoying to me that the Olympics don't have a online viewing option unless you are a cable subscriber. If you have cable, and can watch the Olympics on like 10 different channels anyway, then you get a passcode to get onto a place with streaming Olympic stuff, but if you are like me and only watch things on the internet anyway, you are shit out of luck...unless a kind relative lets you use his passcode. Then you can screw over the cable companies and use their precious streaming Olympics anyway. Seriously, I would pay a little bit to get the 2 weeks of access to online streaming Olympics. Stop being assholes, cable companies and the Olympics - and let me see 2 man bobsledding on the internet. But I digress.

None of that has to do with orgasm equality or Science, Sex, and the Ladies, or anything I usually write about, but the Sochi Olympics do involve seeing penis bulges in those long sleeved onesies that winter athletes all wear.

I was checking out what Cosmo Magazine online had to offer about female orgasm lately (spoiler alert - a lot of New Positions to Hit Your G-Spot! bullshit), when I found an intriguing collection of 19 Best Olympic Bulges. For once, Cosmo, you have impressed me. Now, dude junk bulging from athletic wear, doesn't necessarily have anything to do with ladygasms, but I think it's fair game for this blog because our culture needs more balance in our sexual objectification of people who are famous for really cool things that have nothing to do with their sexiness or sexy parts. Women get this type of objectification way more than men. This situation gives the hetero men out there so much more to fantasize about and enjoy on a sexual level.

Well, we hetero ladies would be overwhelmed to get even a tenth of the masturbation fodder that men see in normal ol' media on the regular. So, in the spirit of sexual balance, and because Sochi is rockin' the Olympic at the moment, Please go check out -->  Cosmo's 19 Best Olympic Bulges.

Some of them are not that interesting to be honest. However, # 11 (seen below) was awesome cause it's literally an outline of a dick. Oh, and a lot of them just look like a straight up camel toe. I feel the picture choices could have been better, actually. Cosmo, can you never live up to my expectations?

Hey Girl Ryan Gosling - The Orgasm Equality Set

Honestly, I didn't think much about Ryan Gosling a couple years back. He popped up on my radar though, strangely, when the Super Bowl was going on here in Indianapolis. I'm not into football really or the Super Bowl, but it was actually really fun watching everyone here in Indy on blogs and Facebook and stuff having fun hanging around downtown. So, while I was stalking my fun-having friends and acquaintances, I noticed someone shared a bunch of Boyfriend Ryan Gosling memes -Indianapolis Super Bowl edition. Now, I hadn't really even heard of the Hey Girl Ryan Gosling Meme or the Feminist Ryan Gosling memes, but something about these Hey Girl, Indy ones were just plain enjoyable to me. They are very specifically Indianapolis-centric and you probably won't find them amusing at all if you aren't from here - For instance "Hey Girl, You're so hot Paul Poteet gets confused." or "Hey Girl, There's more than corn in Indiana, but all I see is you."

From then I started noticing Ryan Gosling more in movies. I loved him in Drive and in the recently SSL reviewed Only God Forgives. Anyway, he also has a reputation for being a feminist including speaking out on the NC17 rating for Blue Valentine - about how ridiculous it is that we see violent sexual acts done to women all the time on the big screen, but as soon as someone shows an explicit scene with a woman receiving a pleasurable sex act, everyone gets their panties in a bunch.

So with all that, I thought I would do a twist on Hey Girl Ryan Gosling. I present to you - Orgasm Equality Hey Girl Ryan Gosling. Enjoy.

Cat Feminist

So Trisha has been really busy at work this week, so I'm just gonna post this picture. Its our cat Ramona as an adult and as a kitten. She ties into the movie because she was found in an actors car, and she's a cat feminist. Enjoy. More soon..

Faked Orgams Memes for your Sunday Enjoyment

Since I've had some posts here recently about ladies faking orgasms, I figured I'd stick with the theme. I accumulated a couple of meme-y type things about it, and here they are to brighten up your Sunday.

It's a possibility to consider, I guess.

If only this grand scheme would just start working already.

I guess I can't argue with that logic, anti-joke chicken.

True that.

More Fun Masturbation Meme-ish Type Stuff

Hey there ya'll. It's Saturday. It's National Masturbation Month (SSL obsevered). I'm feeling lazy. Masturbation (particularly female) is an important ingredient in the the main cause of this blog - Orgasm Equality. I like when things are funny. All this, again (cause I did this a couple weeks ago too), leads to the obvious conclusion that I should post a bunch of funny(ish) meme-y type pictures that have to do with masturbation. So here goes again.
He better start working on his back and neck flexibility.

Oh, Bad Luck Brian, only you.

agreed.

dude.

sorta sexy in a robot kinda way

I love Captain Jean Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise. I just wanted to say that.

Maybe just not believe in eternal damnation. Then there's no trade-off.

You do wear glasses though, as do I...and most of the world too.

I Love Parades.

I'm going to stray off topic here. Instead of pondering ladyasm depictions in our media or some other crap like I usually do, I'm going to talk about something much more important and close to me heart. Parades. I love a parade. I am a natural critic, so I will critique the hell out of, during and after, but I will always enjoy it, and I will cheer. Oh how I will cheer. I don't care if it's some dude on a tractor with a poster board duct taped to the side or if it's the most beautifully large, sparkly, fluffy cloud float I've ever seen. I will scream accolades at you, because by god, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to entertain me.

So, now that you know my true heart, I can tell you that it was Pride week here in Indy. It involves a fabulous parade - the best we have. (This is where I need to confess that I've never been to the most famous parade in Indianapolis, the 500 Festival Parade that coincides with the Indy 500 race. I don't know why I've never been. I think for years I thought you had to pay to see it. I don't know how that makes sense, but it was always in the back of my head somewhere. That's my only real excuse. I will see it someday, I promise.)

Anyway, I loved the parade, and there were groups that really put in the time to do it up. I have great appreciation for a good solid effort to entertain in a parade. So...I want to give credit where credit is due. These are some photos Charlie caught from the parade. There was other superb stuff, but I wanted to focus on the more homemade endeavors of awesomeness that I noticed - which includes but is not limited to the following. Enjoy.

It's just a black truck, but I like the way it's fully decked out

They got married - and then chased a little wedding cake around

I love sparkles like nobody's business so...yes on the dress and the disco ball

How can you make the ol' politician in a convertible schtick fun? Giant Gavel, of course!

Fabuloso.
A Unitarian church had a bunch of people in crazy detailed, all pink costumes. I think it was my favorite effort of the parade. There are a few examples below.

You should have seen under the skirt

Like I said, the more sparkles the better in my opinion

Feathers? yes.

so much can be done with beads and knitting
The head piece was made out of all these spools of pink thread and yarn. There was a lot going on in this one.

Even had a little pink vacuum. That's what I'm talking about, people - details.

And well, I just liked looking at this one. (Although I thought standing on a moving car with no helmet or anything to hold on to was excessively dangerous)

Funny Masturbation Meme-ish Things For A Saturday

Hey there ya'll. It's Sarurday. It's National Masturbation Month (SSL obsevered). I'm feeling lazy. Masturbation (particularly female) is an important ingredient in the the main cause of this blog - Orgasm Equality. I like when things are funny.

All this leads to the obvious conclusion that I should post a bunch of funny(ish) meme-y type pictures that have to do with masturbation. So here goes.

(Also, did you know they call it "fapping" in England? I didn't until I started reading pro-sex Reddit communities that had a bunch of English people in them. I kinda don't like the word. It sounds like someone is tucking really hard on a limp dick, but whatever - it's here to stay I think.)

Why, that's how I'd describe it too Sponge Bob!

I'm a righty only.

My cat's do love watching me masturbate. That's a fact.

Come on people, use good ergonomic technique! Get a wrist stabilizer if you need to.

exactly

It's true. You can hear your mother walking to her car after a PTA meeting from 7 miles away.

I guess Spider Man is British

Bad Luck Brian can never catch a break

If you must

Rihanna And Her Pro-Masturbation T-Shirt

Okay, Rihanna wore this shirt during National Masturbation Month (which is in May, but I'm celebrating it in June here on SSL). Jezebel had a simple and appropriate blurb on it. I have to say though, I have a little trepidation about putting this up on my blog. I prefer sticking to straight up physically related discussions of female sexual release and away from the broad messy world of general web feminism. Not that most of my posts aren't feminist. They certainly are, and not that I don't like pondering feminist issues. Oh, I do. It's just that I like keeping this post a bit more pure and clear-cut, if that makes any sense, and a picture of Rihanna with a hand-in-sexy-panties, seemingly pro-masturbation t-shirt seems like it goes into a murkier web-femininist territory...but what the hell.

I like the T-shirt. It's fun. It's pro masturbation in a very anti masturbation world, and it's also specifically pro-female masturbation, which is even more rare.

I'll give Rihanna props too. I know Rihanna is controversial (which is one reason that this seems like stepping into murky feminist waters), but I really don't know enough about any Rihanna gossip to even have a good thought on this in the context of all the Rihanna controversy stuff. I'm sure like most actresses and pop stars, and all people really, she's a mixed bag, so I'll just go forward assuming she's simply putting her star power behind a pro-masturbation culture.

I did check out the company that made the t-shirt. I'm not so sure their intention was feminist in any way, or even pro-masturbation activist. Honestly, I think it was more about having a slightly shocking shirt that included a fairly attractive lady-lower-half with her hands in her panties. But, whatever, there's a definite kernel of bold activism in a famous woman wearing it in public. It may be sexy, but it's also about a lady getting her own, and there's so little of that out there that I'll take whatever I can get, so I guess I'll just say rock on Rihanna.

Thanks Mom! - The Final Clit Awareness Week Post

We've made it, folks. We've reached the end of the 7 day International Clitoris Awareness Week SSL blog marathon. It's been pretty fun for me, but I am only one woman doing this thing, so I'll be going back to my 2 to 3 a week routine from now on, but on to current business.

It's Mother's Day. What do mothers and clitorides (That's a grammatically correct plural of clitoris - I swear to you) have to do with one another, you ask? Well, clearly, moms tend to have clitorides. Baby making, which for many can also be considered mother-making, often has to do with sexual stuff, and clits also have to do with sex stuff. Plus, moms have the opportunity to introduce their children to the idea of the clitoris.

my mom with her mom...and sweet pants
On that note, I'm here to say thanks to my mom. I can't specifically recall her using the actual word clitoris to me. We actually used word like palantas or pwalacitos pwandalas for our down there regions. And no, she wasn't originally a non-English speaker or anything. Those were just the kind of words we said around the house. I know people get all worried about using non-anatomically correct words for kid's junk, but I don't think it's a big deal. She never shied away from talking about the palantas. Like much of parenting, it's less the specifics and more the intention and spirit.

Those aspects, I think my mom was right on about. She was open and age appropriate and taught when teaching moments arose. For instance, when we were hanging out on the front porch and my friend's brother Billy came down the street all newly full of pimples and stuff, my mom took the opportunity to tell me about what happens to boys during puberty. When we were watching Shag, and some boys were throwing water filled condoms at the girl's car, she told me what condoms were. When there was this local news story on about parents upset with a teacher who's sex ed class included an educational video that talked about masturbation, my mom said, "Trisha you know what masturbation is, right?" - or something like that. Sitting in that little living room, with my mom and dad watching TV, I was kinda mortified, but I sure as hell did in fact know what masturbation was, and I was able to conjure up a shy, "yeah." At least that's how I remember it. I don't remember that anything else was discussed, but my mom clearly let me know in that moment that masturbation did not disgust her, that it was something that could be spoken about, and that she kinda expected me to know what it was. That's a mothering win.

She also happened to get a degree in childhood development and was working at the YWCA around the time I was heading into puberty, and she brought me home some pamphlets about puberty and sex. These definitely did talk about the clit and have those (actually kind of unclear now that I think about it) diagrams of the clit/vulva area. They also had a few examples of girls bodies as they were going through puberty - like some didn't get much boob and others were kapow and stuff. Some had a lot of hair. Some didn't. They also had all kinds of questions girls might have with good, thoughtful answers.

It was slightly progressive, accurate info she put into my hands. I looked at them over and over again. I'd bring them to slumber parties and all us girls would look at them and talk about them. In a way, she not only educated me, but she educated a lot of my friends too.

I do very much appreciate that. In fact, I appreciate my mom for all the ways she equipped me for life. I'm making a movie and writing a blog that I am excited and passionate about. I feel confident and loved and I generally like my life and my direction. I don't believe I'd be able to move in my skin so easily without the base she gave me. As I grow, I see more and more how many people were not made someone's priority as a child, and I think it's one of the saddest things in the world. So, thanks for that, and in the spirit of the week, thanks also mom, for giving me a fighting chance at being sexually confident and well adjusted. My friends thank you too.

I'm proud of you, and I love you to pieces, Muchiste! Also, I'm probably going to tag you in this when I post it on Facebook, so I hope it's not embarrassing.

baby me, mom, and my sis - who is also a fantastic mom

There are two lasting gifts we can give our children - one is roots and the other is wings. - from a little framed thing my mom always had up at our house.

Posters for May First Friday!

Well, tomorrow is First Friday again here in Indy. That means we're putting up some Science, Sex and the Ladies posters around the gallery areas where people will be walking. Charlie whipped these out yesterday. I really like them, and I think we'll stick with this concept for a while. The photos are a mixture of stills from the movie, portraits of actors in character, and behind the scenes stuff. It's just fun, kinda intriguing things that have to do with the movie. There are plenty, plenty more that can be made, and I'm looking forward to seeing what ol' CBruv comes up with.
So, if you're out and about, particularly in the Fountain Square area, keep an eye out for the posters - oh and please enjoy -I think it's going to be a super nice spring night for the Indianapolis May First Friday!

New Years for Easter

In honor of this holiday, Easter, I am going to put up some pictures of me the rest of the AnC Movies crew enjoying a completely different holiday - New Years Eve. You see for years AnC Movies has sent out holiday cards to our mailing list letting them know what we've been up to and what we intend to do in the future. It started way back in 2001, I believe, and we tried to do them every year, but it became a bit more sporadic in the later years. I guess we were busier with the Science Sex and the Ladies movie and had less expendable money, but it's unfortunate because these were always really fun to make, and people seem to actually enjoy these strange creations they get in the mail.

We've been thinking heavily about making one soon, and then just yesterday one of our friends and longtime mailing list entries brought us the 2010 New Years card to sign so he could frame it up, and it made us pretty excited to get started on something new. It's been way too long. So, I thought I'd put up a few pictures from the photo shoot we did for that card. Enjoy, my friends, enjoy.
